HOLT Crane & Equipment, the Link Belt Crane Distributor for central, north, east and southeast Texas, has named Michael Downer as service/parts manager for Houston, San Antonio and Irving.
In his new position, Downer will be responsible for managing all aspects of HOLT Crane’s Link-Belt crane service and parts operations. He has worked in the industrial crane industry for 14 years and holds crane operations certification from the United States Navy.
HOLT Crane & Equipment is the authorized Link-Belt crane distributor in 141 selected counties in central, north, east and southeast Texas for sales, service and parts support for its full crane product line. HOLT Crane & Equipment is a division of HOLT CAT, a San Antonio, Texas-based company that began operations in 1933 and today is the largest Caterpillar equipment dealer in the United States.
The Holt name has been associated with heavy equipment and Caterpillar for over 100 years. Peter M. Holt, chief executive officer of HOLT CAT, is the great-grandson of Benjamin Holt, who in 1904 developed the first successful track-type tractor which he named the “Caterpillar.”
