Manitowoc Crane Group (MCG) has named Eric Etchart president and general manager. The new role is effective immediately and follows the promotion of Glen Tellock (previously president and general manager of MCG) to president and CEO of the parent organization, The Manitowoc Company Inc.

Etchart has been with Manitowoc Crane Group since 1995, serving first as a general manager for Potain in Italy before moving to the Asia-Pacific region in 1997. After some time in Singapore, Etchart moved to China in 2001. Since that time he has served as executive vice president of the Asia-Pacific region.

“There could not be a more exciting or challenging time to take up this position with Manitowoc Crane Group. I feel immensely proud in accepting this role,” Etchart said. “Glen has been a tremendous leader over the past five years, driving us to the front of our industry. I believe we now have a platform to build on, to take us to new lifting markets.”

“Eric brings a deep knowledge of the lifting industry and a passion for our products to his new role. With his experience leading the Asia-Pacific region, and his previous role managing the Potain brand in Italy, his move to group president will be seamless,” Tellock said. “Eric is extremely globally-focused in his approach to business and he will continue the effort we started to make MCG the global leader in lifting solutions.”

Etchart will relocate to the Manitowoc area during the next six months. Manitowoc Crane Group also is recruiting a new executive vice president for the Asia-Pacific region.
