Crane Climber Rescued; Charged in Toronto →

A woman stuck on the top part of a construction crane in downtown Toronto for hours has been rescued after being strapped to a rappelling firefighter and lowered to the ground. The woman had been perched on a gently swaying large pulley device for at least four hours and was clinging to a steel cable when a rescuer reached her. Crane Accident Raises Safety Concerns in Seattle →

A crane cable apparently snapped at a construction project a couple blocks from Pike Place Market on Tuesday, sending debris crashing through the job site and onto a passing commuter's bicycle. Just weeks before, a local union had picketed the project, alleging unsafe worker conditions. Liebherr has extended its mobile crane product range with an additional series of rough-terrain cranes in the 100 ton (90-t) and 110 ton (100-t) classes. The Liebherr rough-terrain cranes LRT 1090-2.1 and LRT 1100-2.1 will be unveiled to the public at ConExpo 2017. From the 1980s to mid-90s the Liebherr portfolio included a range of rough-terrain cranes — then called LTL-cranes.
