Covey Crane Service of Spencerport, N.Y., has just added a new Manitex TC45142C, 45-ton capacity boom truck to its fleet. Covey purchased it from local Manitex dealer Empire Crane Company, who has sold more than 25 Manitex boom trucks in 2018 alone. Raymond Ziegler, president of Covey Crane said "we chose to purchase a Manitex boom truck again, because of our great experience with the 40124SHL and Empire Crane." OSHA Issues Final Rule on Crane Operator Certification Requirements →

OSHA has published a final rule that clarifies certification requirements for crane operators, and maintains the employer's duty to ensure that crane operators can safely operate the equipment. The final rule will maintain safety and health protections for workers while reducing compliance burdens. Sims Crane, a Florida-based crane rental and rigging service company, has announced the formation of Sims U, a paid, hands-on crane operator training school based in Tampa. According to Sims management, the goal of the program is to jump start a student into a lucrative career. Terex Corporation reported third quarter 2018 sales of $1.2 billion, up 11 percent versus Q3 of 2017, with increased sales and backlog in its AWP and MP business segments. The results were driven by continued implementation of the company's Execute to Win business strategy and its focus on meeting the growing needs of customers during a period of broad-based growth.
