Wiesbauer Orders Demag AC 300-6, AC 55-3 All Terrain Cranes →

Bietigheim-Bissingen-based crane service provider Wiesbauer continues to rely on Demag units. The company, which in the last two years has acquired an AC 700-9, an AC 500-8, and two AC 160-5 all terrain cranes by Demag, just ordered a Demag AC 300-6. The crane will be delivered in September 2018. Moreover, Wiesbauer received a Demag AC 55-3 in March. The Las Vegas area is experiencing a growth spurt, so when California-based Coastline Equipment acquired Blaine Equipment in January 2017, the long-term plan was always to add equipment to its inventory. Mortenson Uses TCC-2500 for Rocksprings Wind Farm →

M.A. Mortenson Company was selected by French-owned renewable energy company Akuo Energy to construct Rocksprings Wind Farm, a 149-megawatt wind farm. The project, covering 15,620 acres of private land approximately 30 mi. north of the United States-Mexico border in Val Verde County, Texas, consists of erecting 69 wind turbines, an electrical substation and an underground transmission line. As the first phase of a $1 billion mixed-use project being constructed by telecom heavyweight Verizon and Dallas developer KDC, Pioneer Natural Resources is making plans to relocate to its new headquarters in Irving, Texas. Sarens Places Massive Order for Demag All Terrain Cranes →

Sarens is expanding and updating its current fleet with the addition of 44 new Demag all terrain cranes that are scheduled to be built and delivered over the next two years. The order includes six Demag AC 55-3 models, seven AC 60-3 models, 12 AC 100-4L models, 10 AC 130-5 models, two AC 160-5 models and seven AC 220-5 models. Elliott Equipment Company, a manufacturer of truck mounted material handling work platforms, cranes and digger derricks, is celebrating its 70th anniversary in 2018. The ALL Family of Companies is once again expanding its fleet with the purchase of eight cranes from Manitowoc. The package includes two each of the MLC650 crawler, Grove TMS760E truck-mounted crane and Manitowoc 999 crawler, plus two more truck-mounted units: a Grove TMS800E and the all-new Grove TMS9000-2. The deal punctuated the final quarter of 2017. Crane Lifts Two Pieces of Holocaust History Amidst Museum Expansion →

A crane helped to lift two enormous pieces of history at the Holocaust Museum Houston. The museum is currently in the middle of a $50 million expansion project, which prompted the relocation of an old railcar and a Danish boat, KHOU News reported. The artifacts represent two sides of Holocaust history: the boat is the same kind that was used to smuggle Jews out of danger during WWII, and the railcar is said to be just one of many that the Nazis used to take millions of Jews to concentration camps, KHOU reported.  Click for more...
