Cianbro is the latest company to take advantage of the barge-mounted benefits that Manitowoc crawler cranes with Variable Position Counterweight (VPC) offer. The Pittsfield, Maine-based construction firm is using a Manitowoc MLC650 to help replace two aging transmission towers on the James River near Charles City, Va. OSHA Announces New Deadlines →

Recently, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) announced new dates for two rules affecting the demolition industry. The first is the deadline for submittal of injury and illness data for 2016, and the second is the deadline for crane and derricks certification. To allow affected employers additional time to become familiar with a new electronic reporting system launched in August, OSHA has extended the date by which employers must electronically report injury and illness data for 2016 through the Injury Tracking Application (ITA) to Dec. The contract was signed on Oct. 23, 2017 while the Demag AC 300-6 and AC 45 City were being showcased in Zweibrücken, Germany. American Crane and Rigging has purchased a WolffKran W8033.20 from Empire Crane Co., LLC, based in Syracuse, N.Y. For its first job, it has been rented by American Iron Inc. to build the 2100-ton structural steel, $120 million addition to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania located in West Chester, Pa. Empire Crane Company representative Justin Melvin has sold a 2017 Tadano Mantis GTC1200 to ACK Marine & General Contracting LLC in Quincy, Mass. “We chose the 2017 Tadano Mantis GTC1200 because it fits the niche that we work in,” Vice President and Chief Estimator John McNulty said. A Liebherr LTM 1350-6.1 mobile crane lifted the restored helicopter onto pre-prepared concrete supports. This exhibition piece will in future welcome visitors to the Kurt Georg Kiesinger Barracks in Laupheim, Germany.
