Mike Chenet, president and owner of Construction Crane & Tractor (CC&T), values the longtime relationship between his company and Daisy Construction. In fact, the two companies have been working together for nearly 10 years and have created a wonderful synergy. And now there's a new element to the two companies' relationship — a Wirtgen W 2000. At ConExpo 2002, CC&T sold a new Wirtgen W 2000 FCS (flexible cutting system) milling machine to Daisy Construction, based in New Castle, DE. Daisy will use the new machine on several upcoming highway projects, including the Interstate 95/Route 22 project in Aberdeen, MD, and a pave and rehab job for the State of Delaware. Daisy Construction also owns two other Wirtgen machines. The Wirtgen W 2000 FCS offers a broad cutting width and high performance for removing deteriorated asphalt pavements or complete roadway structures down to 13 in. (33 cm) in a single pass. The W 2000 FCS boasts a 565-hp (421.2 kW) Cat diesel engine with front discharge for ease of operation. This model has a 79-in. (200.7 cm) cutting width, with 87-in. (221 cm) cutter width available as an option. "The W 2000 allows for quick change of drums for different applications," said Chenet. "It's a versatile machine that is great for interstate highway work as well as residential jobs. This machine is a perfect match for Daisy because it will cover all of the company's needs." Having the right equipment for the job is important, but having a trusted relationship with an equipment distributor is just as important — something CC&T has worked hard to establish with Daisy Construction. "There's a mutual trust that is built up after working together for this length of time," said Chenet.
